COADY Institute graduated participants coming from 18 countries

Coady International Institute graduated 64 participants from 18 countries in two International certificate programs at WISE, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 4 April, 2014. WISE hosted the courses at its new training center. The courses were Community-Based Microfinance for Financial Inclusion and Livelihoods and Markets. Thirty-five of them attended Livelihoods and Markets and the rest participated in Community- Based Microfinance for Financial Inclusion. The training lasted for two weeks from 24 March – 4 April, 2014.

African centers of Excellence (ACE) for Women’s Leadership closing event

WISE hosted the African centers of Excellence (ACE) for Women’s Leadership 5th closing event on 1 April, 2014.

The ACE program involves WISE (Ethiopia), Young Women’s Leadership Institute (YWLI) of Kenya, Akina Mama Wa Africa (Uganda) and Rwanda Women’s Network (Rwanda). The program is led by the Institute of International Education and financed by the Packard Foundation. The first lady of the Government of Ethiopia attended the event as guest of Honor.

IIE convening of the African Centers of Excellence

The institute of International Education is holding its fifth convening of the African Centers of Excellence (ACE) for women’s Leadership in Debre Zeit, Ethiopia from 26th march – 1 April. Members of the ACE group come from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia. WISE is the member organization from Ethiopia.
